Fred, Jr. Product Specialist
What are your primary responsibilities?
My main responsibilities are to communicate the vision of each product to all teams involved, as well as track any input about product features. I brainstorm with different teams and use those ideas to create design documentation.
What languages/tools/resources do you use to accomplish these
tasks?
I use several programs from the Microsoft suite, such as, Visio, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project. Occasionally, I also use Photoshop Elements and HTML coding.
What is a ‘typical’ day like for you?
A typical day for me at airG is fast-paced and very interactive. I usually have a few meetings throughout the day on top of creating design documentation. I typically balance a few projects that are in different stages of the development cycle. Every day, I may meet with many different teams – Project Management, Marketing, Sales, Development, and QA. That interaction is vital to the success of the products we design which makes each day unpredictable and exciting!
How did you find out about your position?
I was referred by a friend and began my career in QA. Through internal opportunities, I joined the Product Team.
What was the interview process like?
It was a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere and I felt that I could be myself. Most importantly, it felt like airG was getting a feel for my potential fit as part of their team rather than just a systematic elimination based on resume size. For me, it was the value of a work-life balance that was most appealing.
What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
Some things I enjoy doing outside of work are: playing guitar, kickboxing, running, gaming, snowboarding, camping, and travelling.
What I like most about my job.
The interaction with all the teams at airG and the fusion of ideas and vision is what makes my job exciting.
