It's the "Canadian Idol" of the Mobile Gaming World

The airG and Seneca College Mobile Entertainment Development Competition 2004 is underway.

Vancouver, B.C., October 27, 2004 --- Imagine competing for the opportunity to design the next big mobile game and having it published for the global market? That's what the airG and Seneca College Mobile Entertainment Development Competition is all about for ten teams of Seneca Computer Programming and Analysis and Gaming students.

airG , the most innovative supplier of advanced multiplayer mobile entertainment products has partnered with Seneca to host the Mobile Entertainment Development Competition 2004. The winner of the competition will garner exclusive distribution of their mobile entertainment application on Canada's leading cellular carrier.

"airG is pleased to be working with Seneca College on the Mobile Entertainment Development Competition 2004. We see this as a great opportunity to invest in the local gaming community and success stories of tomorrow by exposing the emerging J2ME developer talent in Canada, and bringing it to the forefront of this rapidly developing global market," says Frederick Ghahramani, Director, airG . "airG 's experience in provisioning mobile entertainment, and games and community applications will enable it to share its knowledge of this space and help bring the winning application to market."

The student teams each have to complete the design and implementation of an original entertainment application. The games will be judged based on their originality, commercial feasibility, how good it looks and how well it plays. Judges will include celebrated members of the mobile technology and academic fields.

"This competition is an exceptional opportunity for our students to gain relevant wireless communications industry experience and knowledge," says Laura Jo Gunter, Dean, Information Arts & Technology, Seneca College. "The students also get the recognition of the larger, more established companies in this market, which is an excellent way to begin establishing themselves as they embark on their careers."

The students have until November 15, 2004 to complete their submissions, with the winning team to be announced by November 30, 2004. The winning application will have an exclusive launch on Canada's leading cellular carrier with a dedicated marketing drive and promotion in time for the holiday season.
